Are you interested in business incubation issues in the Pacific region of the United States, Mexico and Canada? Discuss common challenges and connect with colleagues at the Pacific Incubation Network Meeting on Thursday, November 6, and Friday, November 7.

Your hosts for the event will be NBIA Board member Melinda Richter and the San Jose BioCenter of San Jose, California. The majority of the meeting will take place at the San Jose BioCenter, with an Opening Reception on Thursday evening at the Silicon Valley Capital Club.

The meeting will feature a variety of events designed to encourage interaction and critical thinking. Plan to join us for this regional networking event!

Thursday Program
Workshop: A Guide to Business Incubation
This half-day workshop is for those new to the industry. If you have questions about developing an incubator, client services or anything else incubation-related, A Guide to Business Incubation is where you can find the answers. Led by experienced industry professionals, this tutorial will help you get your program started on the right track.

Opening Reception
The opening reception will take place at the Silicon Valley Capital Club in downtown San Jose. This private, elegant club provides an ideal setting to kick back and get to know others involved in incubation who live near your area.

Friday Program
Creating a Dynamic Entrepreneurial Ecosystem: The San Jose Experience
A panel of San Jose incubation professionals will explore the success of San Jose incubators, focusing on what has worked for their programs and what hasn�t. Learn how to create a strong network of incubators in your community.

Breakout Discussions
The group will be divided into sections based on the following topic areas: self-sustainable incubators, marketing an incubator, strategies to increase and maintain client retention, and attracting government investment into incubation programs. Share tips with your peers about what worked for your program and ask others for help with problems you�ve encountered.

Keynote Speaker
Robert Shelton, director of Product Innovation Practice at PRTM Management Consultants, will speak during Friday�s lunch. Shelton is a leading expert on innovation and co-author of Making Innovation Work: How to Manage It, Measure It and Profit From It.

San Jose BioCenter Tour
Tour the San Jose BioCenter, the first bioscience incubator with wet lab space in California. This facility had a recent $5 million addition featuring a chemistry analytics lab, biology lab and three tissue culture rooms. Here�s your chance to visit this state-of-the-art facility.

Rapid-Fire Panels
Everyone will play a part in this special interactive discussion. A few people will be selected to serve as panelists, answering questions posed by the moderator and audience members. Be prepared for a discussion about incubation like you�ve never heard before!
